Tesco Lotus has opened its first 2,000 square metre supermarket in UD Town in Udon Thani, which is twice as big as its existing supermarket stores. Tesco Lotus Supermarket Operations Director Tanatat Veeravitayases said the new market will feature products like in Tesco Lotus hypermarkets.
To underscore its commitment to the community, Tesco Lotus announced that 60 of the store's 65 staff (over 90 per cent) were hired locally. The company will also be paying property taxes and signage taxes into the local community of over Bt1.5 million per year. Tesco Lotus employs over 36,000 people nationwide
